My neighborhood...
Today's photos (above)are of the steep winding "streets" of the old section of Skopelos where I'm living ... they're made of stone and very narrow & quaint. Geraniums seem to be the flower of choice here. They're everywhere. No cars are allowed up here in the old town on the hill, just an occasional scooter. Church bells ring around the town, and now and then, I'll hear a rooster crowing or dog barking, but otherwise it's VERY quiet. At night, sometimes the music from a bar or disco drifts across the bay and up the hill, but it's kind of nice. Below, I've included a photo of the house where I'm living. It's a VERY old traditional Greek stone house with beamed ceilings and a slate roof (rare when most homes have the newer red clay tiles). The last 2 pictures are boats in the harbor and a nearby church, Panagitsa tou Purgou.
